A Japanese pianist Kan Tomita is recognized as one of the most exciting rising performers of his generation with numerous international awards and prizes to his credit. Since his concerto debut at the Royal Festival Hall at the age of 15, he has been in demand both as soloist and chamber musician performing in the UK (Southbank Centre, Barbican, LSO St Luke’s etc), Europe (Austria, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Romania and Ukraine) as well as Japan; where his recent performances have been praised by music critics as “superb technical accomplishment and poetry…stunning” (“Ongaku-no Tomo” Music Magazine, May 2007 Japan).
Born in New York, Kan Tomita moved to London in 1992 and studied piano and composition at the Purcell School of Music as recipient of John Ogdon Memorial Scholarship.
